The components to this blend are made up of washed coffees from producer groups 'Matambo' in the Gigante region in Huila Colombia and 'La Estrella' located in Nueva segovia, Nicaragua. With the addition of a naural processed coffee from PNG to add fruit complexity.
We are excited to work with Caravela and these producers as it ensures each farmer we purchase from is paid above market rates with majority of the farmgate rate going to the farmer direct (over 83%). Why is this important? To ensure that the farmers are renumerated for their attention to detail and coffee quality at every stage of production. This incentivises the farmers to continue to improve process and product, while also allowing them to improve their community standards of living, creating positive change for their families into the future.
